Montana Black was born in Las Vegas, NV in 1966. She received her BFA with honors from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1990. There she studied with artist/printmaker Jim Pink and noted art critic Dave Hickey.
Montana Black’s work is widely shown and collected locally and nationally. The most notable of these collectors is the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The artist has a permanent installation of ten large scale reproductions of her “Angels Unveiled” series in the main lobby of the medical center.
The painter’s most recognized work are her figurative images that talk about what the artist believes to be the true nature of the human condition which she considers to be divine.
Montana currently lives and works in Las Vegas, Nevada.
